French Nuclear Reactor Availability Falls 2.25GW On Strike

EdF’s nuclear reactor availability fell by 2.249GW on Thursday, amid planned strike action at EdF’s sites, remit data show.

  • Workers at EdF announced a 24-hour industrial action starting 15 Feb 9PM.
  • Output at Flamanville 2, Gravelines 5, Paluel 2, St Alban 2 and Tricastin 2 has been curtailed for the duration of the industrial action.
  • Output at several hydropower units has also been reduced.
  • Power demand in France is expected to peak at 66.55GW on Thursday, well below levels seen in previous weeks during weekdays amid milder weather.
