Futures Coil Overnight

JGBS

JGB futures stuck to a very narrow range in overnight trade, ultimately adding 4 ticks vs. Tokyo settlement levels, with a move higher in oil prices providing support via increased growth worry.

  • There hasn’t been much in the way of notable domestic news flow to digest since the Tokyo close, with ongoing comments from PM Kishida revealing little in the way of new news, as he points to uncertainty re: Ukraine and a need to ensure that price rises do not hamper the economic recovery. Kishida has also flagged the need to draw up fiscal measures during the month of April.
  • Household spending and wage data provide the major domestic economic releases of note on Tuesday, with 10-Year JGB supply due later in the day. We will also get an address from BoJ Governor Kuroda.
