Geopolitics to Dominate

JGBS

Tokyo participants will have to assess the latest round of geopolitical developments re: the Russia-Ukraine situation, with other global core FI markets firming in early Asia dealing (although they trade off of their respective early peaks). This comes after JGB futures recovered from worst levels in overnight dealing at the backend of last week, alongside U.S. Tsys, ultimately finishing +3 vs. settlement levels. Retail sales and industrial production headline the local economic docket on Monday, although it will be the geopolitical news flow and broader risk backdrop that drives price action.
