German Gas Demand Last Week 33.5% Below 2018-21 Average

German natural gas consumption last week stood 33.5% below the 2018-21 average and declined by 15.9% week on week, mostly given milder weather, Bnetza data showed.

  • Temperatures-adjusted demand last week stood 19% below the 2018-21 average.
  • German gas storage stood at 64.15% of capacity on 28 March, up from 63.86% a week earlier. Last week, Germany saw several consecutive days of net storage injections, but withdrawals picked up this week amid higher demand due to colder weather.
