Germany Accelerates Solar Additions in July

Germany added 1.406GW of new solar PV capacity in July, up from 1.306GW in June and the highest for any month since January, Bnetza data showed.

  • Net solar capacity additions stood at 1.405GW in July with total capacity at 92.393GW at the end of July.
  • Onshore wind capacity additions in July also accelerated slightly to 248MW, up from 227.1MW in June and the highest for any month since March.
  • Net onshore wind capacity additions stood at 185MW in July with total onshore wind capacity at 61.151GW as of July.
  • Offshore wind capacity also increased by 170MW last month, up from 155MW in June. Total offshore wind capacity stood at 9.03GW at the end of July.
