GILT SUMMARY
GILT SUMMARY: Gilt futures briefly pushed to a fresh 6-week high as the pound
sank Thursday afternoon, though have come off slightly.
- The Dec 18 Gilt future is up 9 ticks at 122.34, having traded as high as
122.45 this afternoon (highest since Sep 6).
- Some modest bull flattening: 2-Yr yield down 0.3bps at 0.747%, 5-Yr down
1.1bps at 1.028%, 10-Yr down 1.5bps at 1.442%, and 30-Yr down 0.6bps at 1.867%.
- Short Sterling futures a little stronger too: all contracts up 1 tick at least
(some Greens/Blues up 2.0 ticks).
- UK yields/ GBP have been weaker alongside EUR post-ECB meeting, with the
dollar dominating and equities recovering.
- Another thin calendar for data and BoE speakers Friday, though UK sovereign
debt rated by S&P and Fitch after hours.
