GILT SUMMARY: Gilts are stronger early Thursday, joining in a US-led global
fixed income rally following US Fed Chair Powell's dovish comments late Weds.
- 10-Yrs outperforming on the curve: 2-Yr yield is down 3.3bps at 0.721%, 5-Yr
is down 3.9bps at 0.906%, 10-Yr is down 4.7bps at 1.33%, and 30-Yr is down
2.8bps at 1.997%.
- Today is First Notice for Dec18 Gilt futures; the Active contract shifts to
Mar19.
- Short Sterling strip bull flattening, with Blues up 4-5 ticks.
- BoE's Carney on Radio 4 this morning had little new on the Brexit scenario
analysis released Wednesday, which resulted in a temporary mini-rally around the
time of release but quickly faded.
- EU`s Barnier reiterated this morning in Brussels that there would be no
further amendments to the Brexit Withdrawal Bill.
- BoE Money and credit data for October out at 0930GMT, a day after the Bank
stress test results were released. Mortgage approvals dropped in September to
63,500 and the volatile net credit data dipped to Stg0.8bn.
