Global Airline Passenger Capacity Stable on Week: OAG

Global Airline Passenger capacity is largely stable in the week commencing Nov. 13, with just a 0.1% reduction in seats, according to OAG.

  • That takes current global airline passenger capacity to 103.2m seats, 3.2% the same period in 2019.
  • The forecast for full year 2023 now stands at 5.55 billion seats, 3.6% behind 2019, but 17.3% higher than 2022.
  • Domestic capacity rose on the week, up 0.16%, while international seats were down 0.6%.
  • The main lag in international capacity compared to 2019 remains in Asia, with South Asia 21.2% below 2019 levels, while North Asia is 27.2% below 2019 levels.
  • Overall passenger seats in North Asia still lag 2019 levels by 4.1.
