Government To Review China Owned Companies

Chile's government has committed to a review of all companies in the country that are owned by the Chinese state, according to a local radio report.

  • A committee in Chile's lower house expressed concern about the acquisition by China's State Grid of a local power distributor
    • State Grid has two operations giving it a 57% stake in Chile's power distribution market, according to previous reports from El Mercurio.
    • For reference, China's Southern Power Grid International owns a 28% stake in Transelec, Chile's largest power distributor.
