DOLLAR
DOLLAR: Greenback regains some lustre in early NY and drags the major pairs from
the better levels of the session. As has been the case all week, FX has been
driven by the ebb and flow of the dollar this morning, with domestic news (UK
GDP, ECB commentary) proving uninfluential. Near term focus shifts to Trump's
appearance in Davos, expected at around 1300GMT, where he'll likely talk through
his 'America First' policies in greater detail. In an interview with CNBC he
repeated his view that the US economy will make the dollar "stronger and
stronger" but that hasn't been the case so far today.
