ICE To Start Gas Market In UK To Avoid EU Gas Price Cap

ICE will open parallel natural gas market in London to cope with potential disruptions by the EU’s cap on natural gas prices, it said.

  • ICE will offer TTF futures and options on the ICE Futures Exchange from 20 Feb, just after the EU’s gas price cap will come into place on 15 Feb.
  • The London market will not be subject to the price cap.
  • “ICE’s purpose is to create markets to allow our customers to manage their risk and we have a duty to our customers to provide solutions to the problems they face,” Trabue Bland, ICE’s senior vice president for futures exchanges, said.
