US TSYS SUMMARY: In line with most global bond markets US Treasuries are trading
with a soft tone this morning.
- 2y USTs are 1bp softer at 2.598% at the time of writing while 10y USTs are 2bp
softer at 2.759% with the curve bear steepening this morning.
- These moves retrace some of the strength seen yesterday.
- The China-US trade negotiations remain in focus with top Chinese trade envoy
Liu He is still set to visit Washington next week. While the US government
shutdown continues with two financing bills will be voted on in the Senate
Thursday with neither expected to pass.
- It remains light on the data front with the Richmond Fed manufacturing index
and the FHFA home sales the highlights while the Fed's blackout period continues
ahead of the Jan30 decision.
