Indian Fuel Demand Slips July

Indian state retailers saw fuel sales dip in July due to seasonal monsoon season decline.

  • The season typically starts June and runs for four months.
  • Monthly gasoil sales in absolute terms in July fell about 13.7% to 6.15 million tonnes while gasoline sales slipped 4.6% to 2.76 million tonnes.
  • On a daily basis, sales of gasoline in July fell about 7.7% from the previous month and gasoil was down about 16.5%. Daily jet fuel sales were down 1.7% from June levels.
