India’s Petronet is seeking to sign more long-term LNG deals amid India’s growing natural gas demand, the firm’s CEO Akshay Kumar Singh said.

  • Petronet aims to cover 80% of its portfolio with long-term LNG deals, he said.
  • LNG prices at $6-7/mmbtu will attract demand from the Indian power sector, he added.
  • Platts assessed the March JKM at $9.356/MMBtu Feb. 7, down by 4.9% in a week.
  • Power sector demand this summer will be high this year, Singh added.
