Inflation Expectations Rise to 11.5% in August from 11.1% Prior

  • In August, the median assessment of household inflation expectations over the annual horizon was 11.5% (+0.4ppts vs. July), the CBR said on its website. Inflation expectations for five years ahead have not changed and remained at 9.5%.
  • The consumer sentiment index increased, remaining close to a five-year high. Price expectations of enterprises for the next three months increased to its highest since May 2022.
  • Both the current assessment and the expectations of survey participants regarding the country's economic prospects and personal financial situations improved, the report stated.
