Inflation Likely To Peak Later In 2022

  • Sell-side analysts see inflation peaking later in 2022 (April) following the higher than expected increases in household electricity and gas tariffs.
  • Polish regulator approved 54% hike of household has bills.
  • Yesterday, Polish Finance Minister Tadeusz Koscinski said that he sees more room for PLN appreciation in the medium term.
  • Economic data showed yesterday that Poland PPI inflation accelerated to 13.2% in November (vs. 13% exp.), up from revised 12% the previous month, and Industrial Production rose by 15.2% in November (vs. 8.2% exp.), up from 7.8% the previous month.
  • Poland will publish retail sales data for November this morning (9am London time).
