Inflows Into Japan Equities Continued

Flows into Japan stocks continued. For the week ending the 19th of May, offshore investors bought ¥867.5bn in Japan stocks, see the table below. This extends the weekly inflow streak of offshore buying to late March. Inflows into Japan bonds were also strong, ¥1105.7bn, similar to last week's pace of ¥1075.3bn.

  • Japan resident's buying of offshore bonds was also firm, coming in at ¥964.7bn, only slightly down on the prior week's pace. Local residents appetite for offshore stocks remained very muted though, similar to the prior week.
