Ireland Reaches 5Th Most Attractive Country for Renewable Investment

POWER

Ireland has ranked 5th most attractive country in the world to invest in renewable energy projects, with the top spots retained by the US, China and Germany, according to an latest EY report, cited by RTE.

  • Last year, Ireland installed 0.6GW of new grid-scale renewable energy, tripling the 0.2GW connected in 2022.
  • Ireland anticipates installing a 900MW offshore wind farm by 2030.
  • Ireland follows behind Denmark, Greece, Chile and Australia – in the normalized economy ranking.
  • A total of $1.8tr was spent on “clean energy” investments around the world – with $660bn allowed for just renewables.
