Irish FM: Lack Of Reciprocal UK Compromise On NI Protocol Disappointing

Speaking to Dublin City University's 'Brexit Institute', Irish Foriegn Minister Simon Coveney states that the 'lack of reciprocal UK compromise [on the Northern Ireland protocol] is disappointing'.

  • Says that the 'UK should stick to its Brexit commitments'. Believes that 'It is very important that we do not lose sight of the goal here, ensuring an outcome that is best for the people of Northern Ireland.' Says that he believes a lasting deal can be achieved.
  • EU and UK representatives meet tomorrow in Brussels to try to reach an agreement on the protocol.
