  • Comes as US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan speaks to MSNBC. Says that the US is 'determined to bring about a ceasefire, a deal for hostages [held by Hamas and avert war between Israel and Hezbollah'. Sullivan: US 'believes it can still find a path forward on de-escalation at Israel's northern border with Lebanon'.
  • Sullivan: 'We are seeing continuing, sustained exchanges of fire at the Israel-Lebanon border'. Separately, White House National Security Council spox John Kirby says to ABC that US citizens should leave Lebanon while commercial travel is still available.
  • Says that for the White House the hostages held by Hamas remain the top priority, but that the biggest challenge 'is that Hamas does not want to do a deal. The prospect of any ceasefire-for-hostages deal being agreed to in the short term remains extremely limited.
