JGBS: JGB futures meandered through the overnight session, finishing little
changed after respecting the recent ranges in the wake of yesterday's pullback
from the brief foray above 155.00.
- As a reminder, our latest BOJ insight piece noted our understanding that "weak
demand for automobiles globally and its negative impact on the Japanese economy
is causing consternation at the Bank of Japan and it could undermine its
baseline view that exports are likely pick up in the second-half of 2019."
- Also worth noting that the BOJ has confirmed that Deputy Gov. Wakatabe will be
attending Jackson Hole, meaning that Kuroda will not attend the symposium for a
second consecutive year.
- Flash PMI data & an enhanced liquidity auction for 5-15.5 Year JGBs provide
the notable events on the local docket today.
