Kazakhstan Plans Increase in Oil Exports in 2023

Kazakhstan to increase oil exports to 71m tons in 2023 from 64.8m tons in 2022 according to Kazakhstan Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov.

  • Exports via Aktau port through Azerbaijan are planned to increase from 2m tons to 3.5m tons in 2023. The port has capacity for 5.5m tons and potential to increase to 7.5m tons.
  • Kazakhstan plans to increase oil production to 90.5m tons next year from 84m tons in 2022
  • Oil output has been limited during 2022 due to planned and emergency outages at key oil fields.
