Kazakhstan Requests Additional Druzbha Pipeline Capacity from Transneft: RIA

Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil had requested an additional 1.2m tonnes of Druzhba pipeline capacity for 2023 from the Russian oil pipeline operator Transneft according to RIA.

  • The extra capacity would enable extra oil shipments from Kazakhstan to Germany to help replace Russian pipeline supplies to the Schwedt and Leuna refineries.
  • KaztTransOil has requested an additional 300k tonnes of oil capacity during Q1 2023 but the request will need to be approved by Russia’s energy ministry.
