Comments from the Kremlin on the war in Ukraine and a range of other issues hitting wires.
- Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov, per Reuters: "Peaceful resolution in Ukraine is not possible without taking into account 'new realities.'"
- Reuters: "Peskov said Russia's position regarding an end to hostilities was "well known." Moscow has repeatedly said that Ukraine would need to accept Russia's claimed annexation... of four regions of Ukraine that it partly occupies."
- On Black Sea grain corridor extension: Peskov says the Kremlin "values the efforts" of UN Sec Gen Guterres but the deal "can't stand of one leg" and the part that affects Russia, "has clearly not been fulfilled."
- Talks in Geneva concluded yesterday without an agreement in place to extend the deal beyond March 18 expiration date.
- Russia maintains that, although Russia agricultural products aren't directly sanctioned, lack of access to logistics and payment services unfairly restricts Russian exports.
- Peskov says yesterday's major announcement from the Australia-UK-US trilateral security alliance (AUKUS) to share nuclear technology to manufacture nuclear powered submarines, "raises questions about non-proliferation," a regular criticism of the alliance from Beijing.
