Kremlin Not Received Information on Danish Plans to Inspect Oil Cargoes

The Kremlin has called for Denmark to abide by international shipping rules in response to potential EU plans for Denmark to scrutinize Russian oil cargoes in its waters.

  • "Everybody should be warned in advance in this regard about the need to comply with all the rules of international mercantile shipping," Russian Transport Ministry, Peskov said.
  • He added that Russia does not have any information on European plans at present.
  • "Let’s wait for some substantial information and then discourse upon what can be done," Peskov added.
  • The FT reported earlier Wednesday Denmark may be tasked with targeting oil tankers transiting through the Danish straits without Western insurance to help enforce EU/G7 price cap sanctions.
