Kuwait's Al-Zour Refinery Resumes Exports Following Unit Restart

Kuwait's 615kb/d Al-Zour refinery has resumed exports following the restart of one of two crude distillation units (CDU) that were shut in early April because of technical issues.

  • The facility's No.1 CDU restarted by 21 April and the No.2 CDU will be restarting soon according to Argus sources.
  • A vessel carrying 109kt of very low-sulphur fuel oil departed Mina Al Zour Terminal on 30 April and heading to Fujairah according to Vortexa.
  • The Al-Zour refinery regularly exports VLSFO and has also previously offered and sold low-sulphur diesel and jet fuel. Annual total diesel exports from the refinery could reach up to 143kbpd, while jet volumes could hit 97kbpd once the refinery reaches full capacity.
