Kuwait's Crude Exports Slip to Over Two Year Low in May

Kuwait’s observed crude exports dropped to the lowest in more than two years in May according to Bloomberg vessel tracking.

  • Exports have slowed as the country rolls out its OPEC+ production cut commitments and ramps up its giant Al Zour refinery.
  • Crude flows from Kuwait fell to just over 1.7mn bpd in May from around 1.95mn bpd in April.
  • In the preliminary data for May, shipments to biggest-buyer China declined by 97k bpd, or almost a fifth, to at least 419k bpd.
