LDP Victorious, 10-Year Supply Eyed

JGBS

JGB futures added 6 ticks in the final overnight session of last week, following the gyrations witnessed in the U.S. Tsy space. Still, Tsys have eased from late NY levels, which may create some spill over in early Tokyo trade this week, especially with Nikkei 225 futures trading on the front foot in light of the weekend's political developments and focus on the potential for emboldened fiscal support in Japan.

  • To recap, the ruling LDP Party affirmed its "absolute stable majority" in the weekend's Lower House elections (see earlier bullet for further details), representing a better than expected performance for PM Kishida's party, although there were some heavyweight casualties when looking to seat losses for the LDP (once again, see earlier bullets for further details).
  • 10-Year JGB supply headlines the local docket on Monday, with final m'fing PMI data also due.
