Libyan Crude Production Slips Under 1mn bpd After Protests

Libyan crude output has fallen to just under 1mn bpd following the closure of the 300,000 bpd Sharara oil field by protestors last week according to its oil minister Mohamed Oun speaking to Reuters Saturday.

  • Libya's Sharara oil field, the country's largest, and nearby El-Feel have been shut down by protesters from the southern Ubari region amid anger over high fuel prices and a lack of economic opportunity.
