US President Joe Biden continues to receive praise from countries on NATO's Eastern flank after Biden issued a full-throated declaration of continued support for Ukraine and NATO's Eastern members.

  • Lithuania President Gitanas Nauseda said on Twitter after a meeting between Biden, NATO Sec Gen Jens Stoltenberg and leaders from the Bucharest Nine: "Important B9 meeting with [Biden] & [Stoltenberg] in Poland today. Transatlantic bond is vital for regional security and for helping Ukraine to win. United States presence in the eastern NATO flank is an absolute necessity ensuring credible deterrence & defense."
  • Nauseda told reporters after the meeting that the US and NATO should increase force posture in the Baltics and said he proposed to Biden the deployment of HIMARS artillery, attack helicopters, and advanced surveillance systems to enhance deterrence.
  • Polish President Andrzej Duda continues to be among the most vocal of the Russia hawks in Europe. Following the B9 meeting, which Duda hosted, he has renewed calls for Ukraine allies to transfer war planes to Kyiv.
