LNG Traders Paying More for Non-Delivery Option in German Auction

LNG traders are willing to pay up to a third more for capacity contracts without delivery obligations, according to Bloomberg citing results from a German terminal regasification auction.

  • The average price for capacity agreements with an obligation to deliver was €0.55 ($0.58)/mmBtu at Wilhelmshaven and €0.58 at Brunsbuettel.
  • Shippers were willing to pay up to 0.72 cents(euros)/mmBtu for the remaining capacity without a destination clause, Bloomberg said.
