Macron Leads But Le Pen Gains In Latest 2nd Round Poll

FRANCE

In the latest presidential opinion polling by Elabe, incumbent President Emmanuel Macron maintains a lead over right-wing Rassemblement National (RN) leader Marine Le Pen, although with a narrower margin than in previous second-round polls.

  • Elabe poll: Run-off: Macron (LREM-RE): 55% (-3), Le Pen (RN-ID): 45% (+3), +/- vs. 10-11 November 2021. Fieldwork: 23-24 November 2021. Sample size: 1,350
  • All first round polls with hypothetical candidates from the centre-right Les Republicains show Macron almost certain to make the second round, and Le Pen the strong favourite to join him. This follows the decline in support for right-wing polemicist Eric Zemmour in recent weeks.
