Latest opinion polling from Harris Interactive shows President Emmanuel Macron winning a second term in office in all hypothetical second-round election matchups, with Xavier Bertrand - a hopeful for the centre-right Les Republicains (LR) presidential nomination - giving him the toughest challenge.

  • Macron (La Republique En Marche): 62%, Mélenchon (France Unbowed): 38%
  • Macron (LREM): 58% (+1), Pécresse (LR): 42% (-1)
  • Macron (LREM): 54% (+1), Bertrand (LR): 46% (-1)
  • Macron (LREM): 58% (+1), Zemmour (Ind): 42% (-1)
  • Macron (LREM-RE): 55% (+1), Le Pen (RN-ID): 45% (-1)
    • All Polls Harris Interactive, +/- vs. 15-18 October, Fieldwork: 22-25 October 2021, Sample size: 2,060
  • Right-wing broadcaster and writer Eric Zemmour - who is not yet an official candidate but is seen as very likely to run and has been gaining increased national and international attention - would be beaten comfortably by Macron according to this poll.
