Major Disparity In Vaccination Rates Among Different Job Sectors

US

Research from pollster Morning Consult shows major disparities in COVID-19 vaccination rates between workers in different US job sectors. Those working in financial services (one of the sectors where working from home is the easiest to facilitate) have the highest vaccine willingness. Those working in agriculture and construction (two occupations almost impossible to do from home) have the lowest recorded vaccine willingness and the highest rates of outright unwillingness to be vaccinated.

  • The low vaccination rates in some industries and locations (most commonly blue-collar, Republican-voting areas in southern or mid-western states) risks a major uptick in cases and hospitalisations during the course of the winter.
