MIDTERMS: Inflation Spikes As Most Important Issue For Voters

US

A Monmouth University Poll has shown a significant spike in the number of polling respondents citing inflation as a priority issue since the same poll last month.

  • Monmouth: “There has been little overall change in the priority attached to these issues, except that the number of people who rate inflation as extremely important has increased from 37% in September to 46% in the current poll...”
  • The poll also shows that immigration and crime - issues which tend to favour Republicans - have also increased in prominence while abortion, racial equality, and climate change - issues which favour Democrats - have dropped since the previous month's report.
