There are six days until the Georgia Senate runoff which Politico describes as “an unusually consequential individual Senate race."
- Politico continues, if Democrat incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) beats Trump-endorsed Republican Herschel Walker, "it would give Democrats a firmer hand on nearly everything in the Senate, from committees to the floor, while improving the party’s defence ahead of a tough map in 2024.”
- Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said, “there’s probably a bigger difference between 50 and 51 than any other two numbers in this place.”
- Early voter turnout suggests that Georgian’s are not fatigued by a seemingly endless cycle of elections, special elections, and runoff elections. Georgia’s Deputy Secretary of State said: "This could be the biggest early voting day ever in Georgia election history.”
- Warnock’s campaign announced yesterday that former first lady Michelle Obama will be recording robocalls for the campaign urging voters to vote early.
- Polls show a tight race: A survey from FrederickPolls has Warnock and Walker tied at 50 percent but betting markets continue to see Warnock as firm favourite. Smarkets gives Warnock an 87% implied probability of winning the race.
