Mining & Manufacturing Production Data On Tap

SOUTH AFRICA
  • International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor told parliament that she has not proposed to the Cabinet to expel Israeli ambassador Eliav Belotsercovsky and the decision on the matter is yet to be made. Pandor was also forced to explain her October phone call to Hamas leader, which she said was devoted to determining viable routes for getting humanitarian aid into Gaza. South Africa's stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict has resulted in fresh geopolitical tensions between Pretoria and its Western partners.
  • The Democratic Alliance (DA) clung onto all four of the seats it was defending in yesterday's municipal by-elections but faced stiff competition from the Patriotic Alliance (PA) in Swartland. The African National Congress (ANC) retained both of its seats, but the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) doubled its result in Limpopo.
  • South Africa will release September mining production data at 09:30GMT/11:30SAST, with manufacturing production due to follow at 11:00GMT/13:00SAST.
