MNI BRIEF: 10-Yr JGB Yield Hits 0.265%, Highest Since Jan '16

The yield on the 10-year Japanese government bonds rose to 0.265% in early trade on Friday, up from 0.250% on Thursday and the highest level since January 2016.

Rate hikes by the Federal Reserve and other central banks have increased speculation that the Bank of Japan would adjust its easing-biased forward guidance on Friday when it unveils its latest policy review, (See: MNI STATE OF PLAY: BOJ To Stay Easy Despite Weak Yen, Yields). The BOJ will conduct an unlimited purchases of 10-year bonds at a fixed-rate of 0.25% at 10:10 am JST (0110 GMT).
