(MNI) TOKYO

The Bank of Japan said on Tuesday that it will provide JPY1 trillion of 5-year liquidity through the Funds-Supplying Operations against pooled collateral on Wednesday compared to a total bid amount of JPY3.2639 trillion.

The lowest rate was 0.1% and the average rate was 0.142%, which are below the 5-year bond yield of 0.175% and the 5-year swap rate of 0.450%. The funds will be provided to February 1, 2028.

The operation is the second offer of liquidity following the first operation on January 23, and comes after the BOJ enhanced the Funds-Supplying Operations against pooled collateral at the January meeting.
