MNI BRIEF: China Pushes Back Against Japan's Semiconductor Threat
China will take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises, according to the Ministry of Commerce following revelations that the Japanese government plans to implement export controls on items related to the semiconductor industry.

Certain countries have overly broadened the concept of national security, abusing export control measures and artificially fragmenting the global semiconductor market, it noted, adding the move seriously violates the principles of free trade and multilateral trade rules.
