MNI BRIEF: EU Risks Damaging Trust With China - MOFCOM

The EU’s decision to investigate China subsidies in the wind turbine industry risks weakening mutual trust between Beijing and Brussels and could damage confidence of companies wanting to invest in the EU, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce told reporters Thursday.

“China reserves the right to take necessary measures and defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies,” He added.

On the U.S. recent decision to add more Chinese companies to its export control entity list, He said Washington had overextended the concept of national security and abuses export control measures.
