MNI BRIEF: Extending Covid Funds To End-June Is A BOJ Option

TOKYO (MNI)

The Bank of Japan could extend special pandemic funding measures for companies by three months to the end of June at the Dec. 16-17 policy-setting meeting, MNI understands.

The BOJ can scale down its purchases of commercial paper and corporate bonds as corporate financing at major firms has been stable and as large firms have been repaying loans they borrowed as a precautious against a shortage of funds.
