MNI BRIEF: Fed's Barkin Calls For Patience As Inflation Falls

The Federal Reserve can be patient about making any adjustments to monetary policy as it seeks more evidence that the recent decline in inflation is sustainable, Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin said Wednesday.

"I'm very supportive of being patient getting where we need to get," he said, citing strong wage growth and increased pricing power on the part of businesses as possible upside risks.
