MNI BRIEF: Fed’s Bullard-Supported Hike, Doesn’t See Recession

St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said Friday he supported the decision to raise interest rates by another quarter percentage point this week and added he does not see the economy slipping into recession.

“The baseline is slow growth, softer employment and falling inflation,” Bullard told the Economic Club of Minnesota. “This is a very tight labor market. It’s going to take a while to cool it off.”
