MNI BRIEF: HKEX Works On A-Share Index Options,Connect Upgrade

Hong Kong's stock market is working with regulators on new A-share index options and will expand the southbound stock-connect scheme once infrastructure is upgraded as it seeks to release more products to promote yuan internationalisation, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing CEO Nicolas Aguzin said on Thursday.

HKEX also aims to soon increase the number of dual-counter securities soon, Aguzin told the Financial Street forum in Beijing.

Recently the National Development and Reform Commission signed an MoU with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority regarding cooperation in Hong Kong’s bond market, as Beijing increases efforts to promote Hong Kong as an international financial hub.
