MNI (Sydney)
TOKYO (MNI)

The 10-year Japanese government bond yield rose to 0.170% in early Friday morning following the rise in U.S. Treasury bond yields, reaching the highest level since January 29, 2016 when the Bank of Japan announced the negative rate policy.

Market players are focused on how and when the BOJ will take action to curb higher bond yields.

The BOJ is targeting the 10-year bond yield at around zero percent but the bank is unofficially allowing the 10-year bond yield to move a range of plus and minus 20 basis points.
