MNI BRIEF: RBA Appoints Jacobs As Head Of Domestic Markets

The Reserve Bank of Australia has appointed David Jacobs as head of domestic markets following the resignation of Jonathan Kearns last year, the central bank said in a statement.

Jacobs, who will start in his new role on Feb 6, was previously the RBA's deputy secretary. He will oversee the RBA's open market operations and analysis of conditions in domestic financial markets. He will report to Christopher Kent, Assistant Governor (Financial Markets).
