MNI BRIEF: Swiss Current Account Surplus Up CHF 49 billion

Switzerland’s current account surplus increased by CHF 49 billion to CHF 69 billion in 2020, the Swiss National Bank reported Tuesday, of which CHF 45 billion was attributable to the higher receipts surplus in goods trade associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The current account in surplus in Q4 2021 surplus was CHF 14 billion - higher than in Q4 2020 - with all components contributing to the increase.
