Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said on Friday that uncertainties over economy and financial markets at home and overseas are extremely high, thoughs echoed in the central bank's latest Financial Stability Report.

The BOJ will be patient in continuing with its easy policy to achieve the sustainable 2% price target, whilst addressing the evolving economic, price and financial conditions appropriately, Ueda said at the general meeting of the credit union association. Ueda, however didn’t elaborate on how and when the BOJ would take any policy action.

As for the outlook for the economy and prices, Ueda repeated his latest views that year-on-year rises in the consumer price index will slow as the impact of pass-through of cost increases wanes.
