LONDON (MNI) - Its a quieter data day in Europe Wednesday, but the calendar
picks up the pace during the US session.
The European data calendar will kick off at 0645GMT, with the release of
the French consumer sentiment data.
ECB Supervisory Board chair Daniele Nouy will deliver the keynote speech at
the "VIII Financial Forum" organised by Unidad Editorial, in Madrid, starting at
0710GMT.
At 0800GMT, the ECB will publish the latest EMU M3 money supply data.
Italy's ISTAT will publish the latest business and consumer confidence data at
the same time.
Across the Atlantic, the US calendar kicks off at 1100GMT, with the release
of the MBA weekly mortgage applications index.
At 1230GMT, the latest US durable goods new orders numbers will be
published.
Durable goods orders are expected to rise by 0.8% in August after a 6.8%
plunge in July, as analysts expect little hurricane impact. Boeing orders
rebounded to 33 after falling to 22 in July, suggesting nondefense aircraft
orders should rebound. Orders excluding transportation are expected to rise 0.3%
after a 0.6% increase in July.
Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari will give the
Welcoming Remarks at Tribal Community Perspectives on Higher Education in
Minneapolis, starting at 1315GMT.
The latest US Building permits revisions data will be published at 1400GMT,
alongside the NAR pending home sales.
At 1430GMT, this week's DOE weekly crude oil stocks numbers will cross the
wires.
New York Federal Reserve Bank Executive Vice President Simon Potter
participates in a moderated Q&A on "The Foreign Exchange Global Code" at the
Forex Network Chicago 2017 in Chicago, with an audience Q&A.
BOC Gov Stephen Poloz speaks at St. John's Board of Trade St. John's,
Newfoundland and Labrador on The Meaning of 'Data Dependence': An Economic
Progress Report, starting at 1615GMT, with a Q&A following.
St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank President James Bullard discusses the U.S.
economy and monetary policy at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri,
with audience and media Q&A, starting at 1730GMT. Then Fed Governor Lael
Brainard will speak at the "Banking and the Economy: A Forum for Minority
Bankers" in Kansas City, Missouri, with audience Q&A from 1800GMT.
